Accrington's opening game in the JWL Founders Group ended in a 9 wicket defeat to Rishton. Alec Jakeman top scored with 44 in Accrington's 121 all out. Jakeman hit four fours and a six from 46 balls. Professional Janith Liyanage got the home side off to a flier with 14 runs off Rishton skipper Brad Boddie's first over. Boddie had his revenge in his next over when he had the Sri Lankan caught behind by Mark Leathert without addition. Scott Greaves (3-18) and Boddie (3-29) picked up 3 wickets apiece. Ali Hasham top scored with 61 against his former club, adding 112 with Sajid Patel (38 not out). Hasham hit five fours and four sixes in his 48 ball innings. Four runs later rain ended the contest.
