Accrington maintained their challenge for a top half finish with a 105 run win over East Lancs at The Property Shop Arena. Half centuries by Keiren Grimshaw and Jacob Clarke helped Accrington make 208-8 in a 29 overs a-side match. Grimshaw hit a dozen boundaries from 49 balls in making 70 passing 700 runs for the season, adding 108 for the 4th wicket with Clarke who hit five fours and a six in a 43 ball 50. Openers Graeme Sneddon (12) and Jon Hayhurst (26) put on 29 and professional Janith Liyanage passed 500 runs for the season during his innings of 14. Professional Eddie Read took 2-39 and Adeel Mohammed 1-53 for the visitors. Tight bowling by Raheem Kasser (3-15 from 8 overs) and Liyanage (2-9 from 3 overs) helped restrict East Lancs to 103-7. Shahrukh Khan top scored with 33 and Paul Turner made an unbeaten 22 in the East Lancs innings. Accrington move back up to seventh after six matches were abandoned without play.
