A hard fought game at Crompton went the way of the home side who beat Accrington by 1 wicket to notch a seventh straight win in all competitions. Professional Janith Liyanage top scored with 55 in Accrington's 154 all out. Liyanage hit nine fours during his 99 ball innings, adding 39 for the 4th wicket with Alec Jakeman (22) after the early loss of openers Jacob Clarke (1) and Jon Hayhurst (23) and Keiren Grimshaw (8). Ramiz Hussain (17) helped his professional add 62 for the 5th wicket and Jimmy Hayhurst made 18 before falling to Crompton captain Simon Wright who took 4-37. Aqib Zulfiqar also took 2-28 in a good opening spell that had Accrington rocking on 13-3. The visitors fought back with Clarke sending back Sam Rigby and Jimmy Hayhurst trapping Denny Hulme to have Crompton 11-2. Professional Aubrey Swanepoel led the fight back with a 40 ball half century, hitting eight fours and a six in making 51. He added 77 with Danny Cashin (19) but Jakeman dismissed both players for the addition of 1 run. Harry Dean put on 23 with Stephen Wright (12) before Liyanage joined the attack to remove the Wright brothers and Zulfiqar to have the game in the balance at 128-7. Kain Dean joined Harry and this pair took the score to 145 when the returning Hayhurst had Kain caught by Clarke. Three runs later Harry Dean fell to Liyanage (4-22) to have Crompton 148-9 but the last pair of Carl Taylor and Jozef Kobyra saw Crompton to victory with 18 overs to spare.
