Accrington made it 22 points for the weekend in a record breaking 67 run win at Colne. Accrington sub professional Sachithra Serasinghe hit an unbeaten 171 in his sides 278-3. Serasinghe put on a new club record 2nd wicket stand of 225 with skipper Simon Hanson after the early loss of Graeme Sneddon for 7 with the score on 15. The Sri Lankan hit a dozen fours and ten huge sixes in his 144 ball innings. Hanson by contrast hit four boundaries in making 60 from 121 balls. After his dismissal at 240 clean bowled by his opposite number Matt Walker, Keiren Grimshaw made 14 before he was caught by John Lambert off Andy Hakin (2-64) at 273. Accrington's score was their highest ever against Colne and the stand was the club's second highest ever, removing the 1911 2nd wicket stand of 206 between Billy Ormerod (75*) and professional Charlie Llewellyn (135*) against Haslingden at Accrington from the record books. Serasinghe's innings was the fourth highest for the club behind Llewellyn (188*), Ashar Zaidi (174) and Nishit Shetty (173). Jimmy Hayhurst (3-47 in his 300th league game for the club) and Hanson (3-29) then took 3 wickets apiece with Serasinghe chipping in with 2-51 to dismiss Colne for 211. After Hayhurst had removed opener Adam Holt without scoring at 10, sub professional Ali Azmat and Kenton Rhodes put on 89. Azmat hit three fours and three sixes in making 61 with Rhodes hitting 42. Tom Bradshaw (22), Hakin (19), Walker (16) and Sam Tillotson (14) all chipped in but Serasinghe had the last word by dismissing Bradshaw to seal victory in the 46th over.
