New Nelson professional Ryan Bailey stepped off a plane to play a match winning innings at Accrington. The South African arrived at Thorneyholme Road about an hour after the match had started after landing in this country earlier in the day. The South African hit just one boundary in making 62 from 91 balls falling leg before to his opposite number Ockert Erasmus with just 3 wanted for victory. Lewis Bradley also made 45, adding 43 with his brother Russell (25) and 79 with his professional before he too fell to Erasmus (3-54). David Crotty (17) and Harrison Phelan (14 not out) also chipped in to Nelson's 6 wicket victory. Nelson skipper Neil Thompson had earlier taken 5-28 and Khurram Nazir 3-53 in Accrington's innings of 183. Erasmus top scored with 48 from 91 balls and Simon Hanson made 38 from 74 balls, the pair adding 76 for the 3rd wicket. Keiren Grimshaw made 18, skipper Graeme Sneddon 17, Jacob Clarke 14 and Jon Hayhurst an unbeaten 14, adding 24 for the last wicket with David Ormerod (9).
