Enfield v Accrington
Enfield won the rain affected local derby at Dill Hall Lane by 8 wickets. Accrington made 123-9 from their 50 overs with Keiren Grimshaw making 65, his fourth half century of the season. The opener hit just two fours from the 122 balls that he faced before being trapped by Enfield skipper Tiarnan Hamill with the score on 95. Professional Ockert Erasmus also made 16 and Jimmy Hayhurst an unbeaten 10 but there were no other double figure scores in the innings apart from 15 extras. Hamill began the match keeping wicket but he took off the pads at the drinks interval and picked up 4-38 from 13 overs. Sub professional Alviro Petersen also picked up 3-27. David Ormerod sent back Lewis Wright (5) at 6 and Erasmus picked up Liam Jackson (1) at 8 as Enfield crawled to 9-2 off their first 7 overs chasing a reduced target of 75 from 24 overs. Petersen and Adam Bracewell then took charge and saw Enfield to a comfortable win in 18.4 overs. Petersen hit 17 singles and one three in making an unbeaten 20 from 38 balls with Bracewell hitting three fours in a 44 ball unbeaten 36. |
