Accrington v East Lancs
Ockert Erasmus ended his three year spell at Accrington with a career best unbeaten century to help his team to a 67 run win over his former side East Lancs at Thorneyholme Road. Erasmus hit nine fours and a six in making 112 from 140 balls after going to the crease in the second over with his side 1-2. Simon Hanson's disappointing season ended when he was run out in the opening over and his partner Keiren Grimshaw also departed without scoring in the next over. Jacob Clarke made 24 in a 3rd wicket stand of 63 with his professional, Graeme Sneddon (36) put on 85 for the 4th wicket, Jon Hayhurst (17) added 44 for the 6th wicket and Alfie Taylor (10 not out) an unbroken 41 for the 9th wicket with Erasmus. A total of 48 extras saw Accrington make 251-8 their highest score of the season. Stand-in skipper Minhaj Bhada took 4-47 for the visitors. Jimmy Hayhurst then took 5-57 to restrict East Lancs to 184-9. At one point they were 47-8 with Overseas Amateur Tim David (13) the only man in double figures but Mark Lomas hit an unbeaten 83 from 117 balls with nine fours, adding 73 with Mark Bolton (28) and an unbroken 64 with Adam Bolton (16 not out) to deny Accrington the bowling points. |
