Colne v Accrington
The closest game of the day was at The Horsfield where Colne beat Accrington by 4 runs in a 43 overs a-side game. Chris Walton hit a league best unbeaten 89 from 120 balls, including eight fours and two sixes in Colne's 169-8. Danny Kegg also made 30 and sub professional Jalat Khan 18. Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus took 4-61 from his 17 over spell. Khan then took 4-36 to restrict Accrington to 165-9. Graeme Sneddon top scored with 58, his first half century of the season, made from 46 balls with five sixes and a four. Accrington were looking out of it until Sneddon took 26 off one over by Kegg and with one over to go thirteen were needed. Sneddon hit the first ball for six but was then run out off the third after losing the strike. Erasmus also made 27, passing 500 runs for the season, Simon Hanson 19 passing 3,000 Lancashire League runs, Jon Hayhurst 15 and Jacob Clarke 12. |
