Jacob Clarke took a career best 8-35 to bowl Accrington to a 54 run win at Todmorden. The medium pacers figures were the best by an amateur this season and the best by an Accrington amateur since 1927. Chasing Accrington's 187 all out, Todmorden had recovered from the loss of Ben Sutcliffe (6) to Jimmy Hayhurst at 20 with Simon Newbitt and Ben Pearson putting on 53 for the 2nd wicket when Clarke dismissed Newbitt for 44 and Pearson for 20. Skipper Andrew Sutcliffe (4), professional Bilawal Bhatti (13), Kristian Garland (9), Elliott Gilford (5), James Crossley (0) and last man Keegan Gee (0) all followed in the medium pacers 10.5 over spell. Veteran David Ormerod left Centre Vale wicketless with this ground being the only one he has yet to take a five wicket haul on after 26 seasons of cricket. Keiren Grimshaw fell just short of a second half century in two days, making 48 from 58 balls with six fours and a six. Professional Ockert Erasmus also made 43, Stuart Crabtree a season's best 32 and man of the moment Clarke 13. Accrington won for the fourth 50 overs game in a row and for the second time in successive days after Friday's 20/20 win. Jacob summed the match up: "When Todmorden were 73-1, Newbitt seeing it like a football and the Pro still to come, on what was a good batting track no one could have predicted the outcome. A great all round team win, and a day to remember! UTA."
