Ockert Erasmus celebrated agreeing to re-sign for Accrington next season with a match winning knock in a thrilling 1 wicket win over Nelson at Thorneyholme Road. Erasmus hit a brilliant unbeaten 95 from 122 balls with eight fours and a six to win the match with just five balls remaining. Chasing Nelson's 190-7, Accrington lost Matt Wilson (4) to Sam Halstead at 13 and skipper Graeme Sneddon (15) to the same bowler at 32. Stuart Crabtree (34) helped his professional to add 38 for the 3rd wicket before falling to Neil Thompson (3-51). Keiren Grimshaw (9) fell to Thompson at 111 and Jacob Clarke (10) was trapped by sub professional Xander Pitchers (4-41) at 134. Pitchers struck again at 150 taking a return catch off Ali Hasham (3) and 1 run later Thompson sent back Ramiz Hussain (0). Jonny Hayhurst (0) was also trapped by Pitchers at 153 leaving Accrington to score 38 for victory with just 2 wickets to fall. Jimmy Hayhurst (13) helped Erasmus take the score to 185 when he too fell to the St Annes professional. Needing 4 to win off Halstead's final over, Erasmus smacked the opening bowler back over his head for six off the first ball to win the match.
