Accrington went down to a second defeat of the weekend this time losing by 37 runs to champions Lowerhouse at The Neville Gee. Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus took 6-43 from 17 overs to restrict Lowerhouse to 135-9. Paddy Martin top scored with an unbeaten 28, professional Cobus Pienaar made 26, stand-in skipper Chris Bleazard 17, Fergus Bailey and Lewis Marsden made 16 apiece, Bailey's innings being ended by a spectacular boundary catch by Graeme Sneddon, and Joe Martin also made 12. Fergus Bailey then took 4-41 to reduce Accrington to 60-7. Erasmus made 19, Ali Hasham 14, Ramiz Hussain and Matt Wilson 12 apiece and Jimmy Hayhurst made an unbeaten 16 but Accrington finished on 98 all out. The run outs of Keiren Grimshaw and Sneddon didn't help Accrington's cause but Lowerhouse had the luxury of resting Pienaar from the attack and still winning with ease. There were milestones for two Accrington players with Matt Wilson passing 5,000 Lancashire League runs and Graeme Sneddon passing 3,000 runs.
