Accrington turned the form book upside down to register an 8 wicket win over local rivals Church at Thorneyholme Road. Batting first after winning the toss, Church were soon in trouble against a rampant Jimmy Hayhurst who sent back visiting professional Usman Tariq (3), Bilal Abbas (3), skipper Craig Fergusson (1), Ali Sartaj (3) and Andy Bentley (1) to have the visitors reeling at 41-9 with only Sam Holt (21) offering any real resistance. David Ormerod sent back Josh Scully (4) in a spell of 10 overs, 7 maidens, 1-9 whilst Hayhurst claimed a season's best 5-41. A last wicket stand of 28 between Sam Tucker (15) and Kamran Basharat (10) took Church to 69 all out with Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus taking 2-5 to polish the innings off. Erasmus then hit an unbeaten 23 with Jacob Clarke adding an unbeaten 13 to his 2-13 with the ball to see Accrington home for the loss of Jon Hayhurst (19) and Keiren Grimshaw (2) by 16.25.
