The match at Bacup began at 15.40 after a day of drizzle that forced all the other senior ties to be abandoned without play. Bacup won the toss and batted against Accrington. Solid knocks by Aaron Fielding (39), professional Haseeb Azam (26), Adam Highley (22), Henry Butcher (17), skipper Matt Thompson (14) and Tim Farragher (12) took the home side to 162 all out. Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus took 3-25, Jimmy Hayhurst 3-26 and Jacob Clarke 2-39. An opening stand of 66 by skipper Graeme Sneddon (23) and Matt Wilson, who made 38 from 29 balls with eight fours, got the visitors innings off at a cracking pace. David Warren bowled a useful spell to get rid of Sneddon, Clarke (2) and Keiren Grimshaw (4) but Erasmus hit an unbeaten 40 from 66 balls, including five fours to see Accrington into the semi finals. Ali Hasham also made 24 and Ramiz Hussain an unbeaten 12 as the match ended at 21.03.
Todmorden 2nds reached the semi finals in the Telegraph Cup with a 7 wicket win over Accrington at Centre Vale. Accrington were bowled out for 179. Skipper Jon Hayhurst top scored with 36, Callum Dwyer made 29, Hamayoon Kasser 28, Gul Khan and Henry Hindle 14 apiece and Toc Hussain 13. Slow left armers Nigel Doyle (3-35) and Hamza Ali (3-36) took 3 wickets apiece. Openers Thomas Whittaker (23) and Jacob Crossley (50) put on 47 and then a swift 37 from Ross Coates took the score to 106. Neil Smith (21 not out) and James Crossley (16 not out) saw Todmorden to victory with 12.1 overs to spare.
