Accrington v Todmorden
Marley Ali and Bryn Hargreaves both hit career best scores in Accrington's 41 run win over Todmorden at Thorneyholme Road. The pair put on 88 for the 7th wicket after Accrington had struggled to 103-6. Ali hit four fours and three sixes in completing his maiden senior half century, finishing with 55 from 58 balls. Hargreaves made 37 from 42 balls with two fours. After the early loss of openers Simon Hanson (0) and Sam Excell (5) to Todmorden professional Michael Neser (3-54) and Gideon Foster (2-38), skipper Stuart Crabtree (28 including four fours), professional Ockert Erasmus (24 with five fours) and Graham Lloyd (36 with three fours and a six) rebuilt the innings only for Paul Senior (2-34) to set them back again. Jacob Clarke also hit an unbeaten 14 at the end of the innings to help Accrington to 222 all out. Erasmus and Jimmy Hayhurst made early inroads as the visitors slumped to 15-3. Ben Pearson teamed up with Neser to add 114 for the 4th wicket with the young wicketkeeper/batsman making a league best 43 from 96 balls with three fours. Neser went on to make 74 from 81 balls with six fours and a six but Erasmus dismissed him in taking 6-42. Hargreaves completed a fine all round performance by taking 3-20 to help Erasmus wrap up the innings for 181 with only skipper Andrew Sutcliffe (15) making double figures of the other batsmen.
