Accrington completed a 24 point weekend with a close 1 wicket win at Rishton to make it thirteen league wins in a row against their local rivals. Professional Ockert Erasmus was the star, hitting an unbeaten 76 to see the champions home. Erasmus hit eight fours from the 106 balls that he faced. Accrington recovered from a poor start that saw half the side out for 60 after being 5-3 in the early stages. Bryn Hargreaves (24) Jacob Clarke (13) and Graeme Sneddon (12) chipped in but with 2 wickets to fall, Accrington still needed 28 to win. Matt Wilson (5) helped Erasmus put on 16 for the 9th wicket and Jimmy Hayhurst helped his professional add the game clinching 12 needed for victory. Ali Sartaj took 4-52 for Rishton. Home professional Matt Hulett top scored with 52 from 73 balls, including three fours in Rishton's 159 all out. Skipper Shaun Hutchinson (22), Garth Wyse (20) and Irfan Muhammed (11 not out) added late runs as the last 3 wickets put on 40. Hayhurst took 3-36 and Simon Hanson 3-43 for the visitors.
