Ramsbottom won for the fifth match in a row to go to the top of the table after beating former league leaders Accrington by 8 wickets at Acre Bottom. Professional Daryn Smit took 5-30 and Simon Read 3-46 to dismiss Accrington for 129 in a 42 overs a-side match. Jacob Johnson made 22 from the top of the order, Graeme Sneddon 20, Sam Excell and Ramiz Hussain 16 apiece and Jacob Clarke 15. Further rain reduced Ramsbottom's target to 123 from 39 overs. Accrington professional Ockert Erasmus (2-48) trapped Dale Gabriel in front before a run had been scored but a 99 run stand for the 2nd wicket between Tom Parton and Smit assured a fifth win on the spin for Rob Read's men. Parton hit five fours in making 60 from 78 balls and Smit hit an unbeaten 47 from 76 balls. The South African didn't hit the first of his three boundaries until his 57th ball.
