Accrington went down to Nelson by just 7 runs in a match reduced to 47 overs a-side by rain at Thorneyholme Road. The visitors made 212-4 and then restricted Accrington to 205-8 with an all amateur bowling attack. Nelson opener Tyler McGladdery hit 56 at the top of the order with four sixes and three fours made from 89 balls. Professional Ryan Canning made an unbeaten 61 from 99 balls with five fours, passing 500 runs for the season, and Russell Bradley hit a destructive unbeaten 42 from just 19 balls with four sixes and two fours. Accrington openers Ramiz Hussain (17) and Sam Excell (15) put on 41 and stand-in skipper Simon Hanson made 26 but the home side fell behind the asking rate. Professional Ockert Erasmus passed 600 runs for the season in making a club best unbeaten 81, Graeme Sneddon also made 17 and Bryn Hargreaves 14 with Uzair Khalid taking a career best 3-31 from 4 overs for Nelson.
