Accrington returned to winning ways after three successive away defeats in the league by beating Burnley by 5 wickets at Thorneyholme Road. Stand-in skipper Simon Hanson top scored with 72 and professional Ockert Erasmus took 6-39, his best figures for the club. Chris Burton top scored with 54 in Burnley's 163 all out. Burton put on 51 with fellow opener Dan Pickup (23). Steve Brunt also chipped in with 25 and there were 32 extras. Jacob Clarke (2-41) and Jimmy Hayhurst (2-30) both picked up a couple of wickets apiece. Cole Hayman removed Jonny Hayhurst (0) at 4 and Graham Lalor (2-39) sent back Marley Ali (4) at 26. Hanson and Erasmus (17) added 32 for the 3rd wicket and Sam Excell (17) helped his skipper take the score to 95 before being run out. Hanson and Graeme Sneddon put on 60 before Hanson fell to Jhangir Liaqat with just 9 needed to win after hitting three fours and a six in a 146 ball innings. Sneddon (29 not out) and Ramiz Hussain (6 not out) saw Accrington home with just three balls left of Hayman's final over of the innings.
