League champions Accrington returned to the top of the table after picking up 12 points in a 59 run win at Bacup. The match saw a total of 70 extras conceded out of a total of 319 runs scored. Sam Excell was the only man to top the 34 extras in the Accrington innings with 36 from 60 balls. Professional Ockert Erasmus made 32 and Graeme Sneddon 30 but the champions were in trouble at 109-6 after good bowling by home professional Haseeb Azam (3-54) and Andrew Spencer (4-36). Good lower order resistance by Ramiz Hussain (16) and Bryn Hargreaves (14 not out) took Accrington to 189-9. Hussain then took 3-6 as Bacup folded from 128-7 to 130 all out. Paul Burdekin made 22, Adam Highley 31 and Aaron Fielding 18 but extras was far and away the top score with 36. Accrington skipper Stuart Crabtree passed 3,000 Lancashire League runs and Jimmy Hayhurst took his 300th Lancashire League wicket during the match.
