Accrington notched their 1,000th Lancashire League win after beating Todmorden by 5 wickets at Centre Vale to go 10 points clear at the top of the table after the other six matches were rained off. Chasing 125 for victory off 30 overs after rain reduced their target, skipper Graham Lloyd and Matt Wilson put on an unbroken 48 for the 6th wicket after Gideon Foster had taken four wickets. Elliott Gilford hit an unbeaten 40, Ben Sutcliffe 38, before being run out by Simon Hanson, professional Geeth Alwis 36 and Simon Newbitt 14 in an opening stand of 27 with Sutcliffe in Todmorden's 155-4 made from 41 overs. Accrington professional Ashar Zaidi took 3-36. Andy Greenwood (23) and Hanson (10) put on 36 in Accrington's reply after their innings was reduced after further rain. Both fell to Foster (4-53) who also picked up Zaidi for 4. Aijaz Shah made 20 before sacrificing his wicket after a mix up with his skipper and Stuart Crabtree made a rapid 15 including one perfectly timed six over square leg before being well caught by Gilford at point off Foster. Lloyd and Wilson then saw Accrington home with few alarms with Wilson making 23 and Lloyd 22, including the winning hit with 2 overs to spare. Accrington become the 12th Lancashire League club to win 1,000 league matches.
