The first match to finish was at East Lancs where the home side cantered to an 8 wicket win over Accrington in Group A with almost 5 overs to spare. East Lancs professional Ockert Erasmus took 4-11 with fine support from Usama Chaudhary (2-10) and Nick Turner (2-20) as Accrington were bowled out for 83. Simon Hanson top scored with 32 and Jacob Clarke made 13 but no other batsman made double figures. Mini Bhada (12) and Erasmus (19) put on 25 but when both were dismissed by Jimmy Hayhurst (2-20), Man of the match Paul Kelly (28 not out) and Ben Westhead (23 not out) finished the job with an unbroken 3rd wicket stand of 41. Westhead hit the winning six to give East Lancs a fine start to this year's competition.
