Accrington's long unbeaten home run was ended by local rivals Church who left Thorneyholme Road with a convincing 8 wicket victory. The new champions were bowled out for 206 with Andy Bentley taking 5-55, passing 50 wickets for the season. Graeme Sneddon (3) became Bentley's first victim since July 21st and he was quickly followed by Marley Ali (0). Simon Hanson made 14 and then professional Ashar Zaidi and Stuart Crabtree put on 38 with the amateur hitting three sixes and a four in making 22. Zaidi went on to make 53, including eight boundaries. After losing Zaidi Accrington were in trouble at 137-7 but an 8th wicket stand of 62 between skipper Graham Lloyd and Matt Wilson put Accrington back in the match. Wilson made 25 and Lloyd was last man out for 38, including three fours and a six. An opening stand of 70 between Levi Wolfenden (30) and professional Kasun Bodhisha ended when David Ormerod trapped the amateur. Lloyd Aspin then hit 55 in a 2nd wicket stand of 100 before being stumped by Wilson off Zaidi. Harvey Aspin then hit a rapid unbeaten 24, passing 500 runs for the season, to take Church to victory with more than 10 overs to spare. Bodhisha hit an unbeaten 88 from 98 balls with four fours.
