Accrington beat Nelson at Thorneyholme Road for the first time since 2004. Professional Ashar Zaidi took 6-24 to bowl the home side to a 63 run win. Simon Hanson top scored with 46, including five fours as Accrington's last 2 wickets added 61. Neil Thompson took 4-38 and Richard Meade 3-53 to have Accrington in trouble at 88-8 but Jimmy Hayhurst (13) and David Ormerod (5 not out) dug in to help the home side to 149 all out. Aijaz Shah also made 19, skipper Graham Lloyd 16 and opener Andy Greenwood 14. Tyler McGladdery made an impressive 26 at the top of the order, hitting four boundaries on his senior debut before being stumped by Matt Wilson off Zaidi in Nelson's reply. Sub professional Joe Scuderi made 20 before being well caught on the boundary by Stuart Crabtree and Ormerod took 3-41 for Accrington.
