Accrington won a 1st round tie for the first time since 2001, beating Colne by 52 runs at Thorneyholme Road. Accrington's score of 149 owed much to the fine batting of Stuart Crabtree and the inaccuracy of the Colne attack that saw an amazing 58 extras registered including 45 wides. Crabtree top scored with 46, a competition best by the left hander. He hit seven fours and faced 100 balls and he was the last man out. A fine spell by Khurram Nazir, who took 3-13 from 10 overs with 6 maidens, saw the home side struggle to 35-4. Matt Walker also picked up 3-33 and Nathan Whitehead 2-36. David Ormerod removed Lewis Rimmer for 9 and skipper Jimmy Hayhurst (4-20) trapped Justin Nutter for 5 before taking the prize wicket of Colne professional Shadley van Schalkwyk for 5 courtesy of a fine catch behind by Matt Wilson. Wickets fell at regular intervals with Ashar Zaidi's fine catch to remove Nazir (10) another feature of the Accrington fielding. Bradley Ramshead (11 not out) and David Walbank held Accrington up with a last wicket stand of 17, but Bryn Hargreaves took the final wicket to see Accrington to victory
