Accrington crashed out of the Worsley Cup to Todmorden in the only match to be played this afternoon.

Put in to bat Accrington were bowled out for 108 in an innings which suffered from several early interruptions due to showers. Professional Ashar Zaidi top scored with 24, Simon Hanson made 18, Liam Brankin 14, skipper Jimmy Hayhurst 13 and Stuart Crabtree 10. New skipper Andrew Sutcliffe (3-23), professional Qaiser Abbas (3-7 from 9.3 overs) and Stevie Barker (3-30) took 3 wickets apiece with Paul Senior picking up his first cup wicket by bowling Hanson. Hayhurst (2-33) removed Simon Newbitt (14) at 24 and Ben Sutcliffe (25) at 71 but Nick Barker (33 not out) and Abbas (27 not out) saw Todmorden to an easy win for the second day running.

Accrington have not won a Worsley Cup match since beating Todmorden in the 2008 final. In fact the club have fallen at the first hurdle nine times in the last ten seasons.
