Todmorden's club record 9 match winning run ended at Accrington where the home side won for the second time under new skipper Jimmy Hayhurst. A superb unbeaten 72 by professional Ashar Zaidi saw the home side to victory with just 1 over to spare after Todmorden had made 161-6. Visiting professional Qaiser Abbas top scored with 51 with Paul Senior (23 not out), Nick Barker (23) and Ben Sutcliffe (21) lending good support. Zaidi bowled through the innings taking 3-54. He was soon in action again after Abbas had trapped left handers Simon Hanson (1) and Stuart Crabtree (0) to leave the home side 1-2. Andy Greenwood (13) helped his professional add 38 before he too fell to Abbas but Matt Schofield (21) took over to add another 38 for the 4th wicket before falling to James Morgan. Abbas struck again to send back Matt Wilson 9 runs later without scoring but Zaidi found another partner in Mitch Taylor who made 21 out of a 6th wicket stand of 52 when Abbas (5-74) claimed his 5th victim. It was the skipper Hayhurst who saw Accrington past the winning post with an unbeaten 14 to record a second win of the season.
