Accrington stay second but lose ground on Lowerhouse after failing to bowl Rishton out in a 32 run win at Blackburn Road. Solid knocks from Matt Wilson, who made a season's best 33, Graeme Sneddon (32, including seven fours), Marley Ali (23) and Simon Hanson (22) took Accrington to 179-9. Garth Wyse took 3-33 for Rishton. The amazing David Ormerod then bowled through the innings for the second time this weekend, taking 2-68 as Rishton were restricted to 147-8. Ashar Zaidi also took 4-36, after earlier passing 700 runs for the season, as the Accrington attack exerted a vice like grip on the home sides batsmen to complete a derby double over their local rivals. Shaun Wyse made 32, sub professional Ryan Smith 27, skipper Jimmy Bibby a painstaking 18, Luke McVarish 16 and Shaun Hutchinson an unbeaten 16 for the home side who picked up 2 vital batting points to keep Colne rooted to the bottom of the pile
