Accrington dropped to third place after being comprehensively outplayed by Nelson who left Thorneyholme Road with a 102 run victory. Half centuries by opener Neil Thompson, who hit 64 from 110 balls with six fours, and sub professional Kashif Siddiq, who made 51 from 53 balls with three fours and two sixes, helped the visitors make 207-6. Stuart Lemon also made 41 with home skipper Jimmy Hayhurst taking 3-41 and professional Ashar Zaidi 3-52. Sam Halstead sent back Stuart Crabtree (1) with just a single on the board. A superb diving catch at square leg by Peter Dibb ended Graham Lloyd's innings after he had scored 12 and then Siddiq removed Zaidi for 24. Opener Simon Hanson was next to go for 14 and then Siddiq (5-22) and Richard Meade (4-52) shared the spoils with only Bryn Hargreaves (12 not out) offering any resistance of the other batsmen.
