Accrington kept their slim hopes alive after claiming a second 12 point win of the weekend this time at Haslingden. Simon Hanson batted through Accrington's 32 over innings for an unbeaten 68. He hit five fours and faced 94 balls. Graham Lloyd (14) and Stuart Crabtree (10) also chipped in but the stand of the innings again featured Matt Wilson who made 18 in a 7th wicket stand of 68 with Hanson to take the score from 82 to 150-7. Andy Greenwood followed without scoring as the innings closed with 8 wickets down. Lee Ingham took a career best 7-77 from an unbroken 16 over spell. Sub professional Anwar Ali (3-28) soon made inroads into the home sides early order ripping out skipper Graham Knowles (8), Sam Kershaw (6) and Mo Imtiaz (13). Professional Phil Hayes was the mainstay of the innings but when he was out for 33 with the score at 82-4, the innings folded with the last 6 wickets falling for the addition of just 11 runs. David Ormerod took 4-45 and skipper Jimmy Hayhurst 3-15 but Accrington are still 27 points behind Lowerhouse with a possible game in hand and a final game at the home of the league leaders in two weeks time.
