Accrington survived a strong Enfield fightback to register a vital 4 wicket win in a low scoring game at Thorneyholme Road. Professional Ashar Zaidi played a splendid unbeaten innings of 71, including eight fours and two sixes after Accrington had been reduced to 4-3 and 20-4. Enfield paid man Werner Coetsee (3-56) and Liam Jackson (3-54) hit back after their side had been bowled out for 108. Home skipper Jimmy Hayhurst took 5-37 and Zaidi 3-36 as Coetsee fought an almost lone battle against the Accrington attack. The South African made 44 after Enfield had collapsed from 56-1 to 84-9. Last pair Wes Ingham (8 not out) and Alex Whittaker (16) put on 24 to take Enfield into three figures. The match looked to have turned Enfield's way when Graham Lloyd was clean bowled by Coetsee at 36 but Zaidi upped the tempo, adding 47 with Graeme Sneddon (16) in next to no time. Jackson removed Sneddon but Matt Wilson helped his professional add the 26 runs required to secure maximum points.
