Accrington returned to the top of the table after an 8 wicket win at East Lancs. The evergreen David Pearson became only the second player in history to pass 15,000 Lancashire League runs during his innings of 65. The left handed opener hit four boundaries in his 115 ball stay. He put on 65 with Minhaj Bhada (16) and 62 with John Turner (37). Professional Ockert Erasmus then crashed an unbeaten 51 from just 32 balls with four fours and a six as East Lancs made 208-4. Rain at the interval reduced Accrington's target to 160 from 34 overs. Skipper Mark Bolton had Andy Greenwood stumped by Matt Egan for 8 with the score on 38 but Stuart Crabtree and Graham Lloyd put on a match winning 104 before Crabtree was caught by Paul Kelly off Erasmus for 54. The left hander hit four fours and a six in registering his first half century in the league this season. Lloyd went on to an unbeaten 71 from 60 balls with eleven boundaries and professional Ashar Zaidi made an unbeaten 13 from just 4 balls after hitting two big sixes. The win leaves Accrington with 74 points from 8 games, 1 point more than Todmorden and 4 ahead of former leaders Lowerhouse.
