An unbroken last wicket stand of 48 between Graham Lloyd (35 not out) and David Ormerod (16 not out) included 19 off the last over to help Accrington make 221-9 in a 146 run win against Colne at Thorneyholme Road. Ormerod hit three successive boundaries and a two off the final ball of the innings. Professional Ashar Zaidi top scored with 62 from 64 balls with six fours and two sixes, becoming the first player to pass 500 runs this season, and Stuart Crabtree made 25. Colne sub professional Dinuka Hettiarachchi bowled through the innings taking 4-91 and Dave Wallbank took 3-59, his figures spoiled by that last over assault. Colne never got to grips with the Accrington attack being dismissed for 75. Skipper Jimmy Hayhurst took 5-32 and Ormerod 2-21. Both men sent down 14 overs, the first 5 of Ormerod's being maidens as the visitors slipped to 7-3. Hettiarachchi made 16 and Matt Wilson 13 but no one else made double figures.
