Accrington's title challenge looks to be over after a comprehensive 9 wicket defeat at Church left the club 36 points behind league leaders Lowerhouse with a possible 6 matches to play, including the rained off replay against Burnley. Jimmy Hayhurst's men were bowled out for just 102. Simon Hanson made 24 at the top of the order with skipper Hayhurst and professional Ashar Zaidi both making 19. Andy Bentley (3-36) and Muhammad Jamil (3-33) both picked up 3 wickets for Church. Home skipper Craig Fergusson fell lbw to Zaidi with just 3 on the board but Levi Wolfenden and professional Saeed Anwar saw Church to victory in the 25th over at 5.11pm with an unbroken century stand. Wolfenden hit three fours in an unbeaten 38 from 69 balls with Anwar facing 71 balls and hitting two fours and a six over square leg off Bryn Hargreaves to end the match and notch an unbeaten half century.
