Andrew Greenwood hit a career best unbeaten 38 as Accrington finally laid the Todmorden bogey to rest after five successive defeats since winning the Worsley Cup at Centre Vale two years ago. Greenwood hit three boundaries from 41 balls as he added an unbroken 89 for the 5th wicket with Graham Lloyd who also finished unbeaten on 45, including his 3,000th league run for Accrington. Accrington made 176-4, their highest score since the middle of June, after losing an over to rain. Todmorden professional David Wiese picked up openers Graeme Sneddon (14) and Simon Hanson (26), who added 62 for the 2nd wicket with professional Will Driver. The Accrington paid man hit five boundaries in his 44 with Wiese taking 3-72. Driver then picked up 4-42 and skipper David Ormerod 5-15 from 19.1 overs, 10 of which were maidens as Todmorden were bowled out for 149. The home skipper added to scalp of Wiese to his impressive collection but only after the South African had threatened to take the game by the scruff of the neck. He finally perished to a fine catch by Jimmy Hayhurst after making 52, including five fours and two sixes. Damian Clarke was the man to suffer most going for 11 and 21 off his sixth and seventh overs after conceding 20 off the previous five. Openers Simon Newbitt (16) and Ben Sutcliffe (10) put on 29, but apart from Joe Whitehead's 10, no other batsman could make double figures.

It was a good day all round for Accrington with a club record score for the 2nds at Todmorden. Jonathan Hayhurst and Stuart Crabtree both made centuries in a record stand of 203 for the 2nd wicket helping the side create a new record total of 319-8. Hayhurst batted through the innings for an unbeaten 113 whilst Crabtree made 124 after a season long struggle for runs in the 1st team.
