Simon Hanson hit his maiden senior half century but Accrington still went down to a fifth successive defeat at the hands of Todmorden at Centre Vale. New skipper Simon Newbitt hit a superb unbeaten 89 to lead his side to an 8 wicket win. The left hander hit nine fours and four sixes, adding 50 with sub professional Mandla Mashimbyi (34) and an unbroken 79 for the 3rd wicket with Nick Barker (19 not out) as his side successfully chased down a revised target of 150 from 22 overs to secure a fifth successive win over Accrington. Visiting skipper David Ormerod took both wickets to fall with Mashimbyi being victim number 1100 on the ground where he famously took his 1,000th wicket two years ago. Hanson had earlier hit an unbeaten 65 with nine fours at a run a ball. Professional Will Driver also hit his second half century of the weekend from just 32 balls with six fours and a six as the visitors managed to make 153-3 in 23 overs after their innings was interrupted at 50-1 after 11 overs.
