League champions Accrington notched their first points of the season with a 44 run win at Rishton. Graham Lloyd top scored with 69 from 67 balls with eleven fours and three sixes. He put on 48 for the 3rd wicket with professional Will Driver (29) and 100 for the 4th wicket with Matt Wilson who made 47 from 35 balls, including six fours and two sixes. Matthew Lambert impressed with 4-47 and wily campaigner John Seedle picked up 3-24 for the home side. Skipper David Ormerod (4-56) sent back both openers and Jimmy Hayhurst (3-44) dismissed Chris Lambert to have Rishton in trouble at 39-3. Skipper Craig Smith led a rearguard action with a sparkling 58 with nine fours from 87 balls with Sam Hacking hitting 27 in his usual style. Paul Carroll also picked up 3-27 as Rishton were bowled out for 156.
