Will Driver returned to haunt his former club Lowerhouse with a devilish performance to secure Accrington's first double of the season. The champion's professional was in sublime form with the bat notching his maiden Lancashire League century and he then added a career best bowling performance of 6-66 to finish off a perfect day with an 18 run win. Driver hit eleven boundaries from 130 balls in making 103 in his sides 226-6. Graham Lloyd also made 43 from 57 balls with eight fours and a six, Stuart Crabtree a season's best unbeaten 23 and Matt Wilson 18. Jonny Russell took 3-47 for the home side. Lowerhouse set a hot pace in reply with Jon Finch making 58 at the top of the order and Jonny Whitehead 23 in an opening stand of 83 on his debut, but both fell to Driver. Paul Carroll (4-56) picked up the vital wicket of professional Aaron Heal (1) along with Ben Heap (32) and Fergus Bailey (21) as wickets began to fall. A last wicket stand of 21 between youngsters Oliver Bayliff (11 not out) and Joe Martin (16) earned the home side batting points, but it was Driver's day.
