Accrington won their first match in this competition in fourteen attempts to end a miserable run going back to 23rd June 2006. Enfield were the unlucky team as Accrington triumphed by 7 wickets at Dill Hall Lane. Liam Jackson top scored with an unbeaten 40, including three fours and a six, in Enfield's 142-6 after an opening stand of 53 between professional Adam Bracewell (21) and Aneeq Hassan (31). Joe Wrigley hit 26 before being well caught on the boundary by Jimmy Hayhurst off Damian Clarke. Skipper David Ormerod took 2-20 and professional Will Driver 3-25 with Graham Lloyd taking a couple of good catches. Enfield's last 2 overs yielded just 7 runs with Jackson struggling to get the strike. Simon O'Loughlin broke through at 27 sending Stuart Crabtree back after the opener had scored 14. Driver joined Matt Wilson to add 80 when both men fell to fine fielding by Adam Bracewell. The Enfield professional, standing in behind the wickets for the injured Kurt Robinson, took a fine catch to end Wilson's innings after the opener had scored 43. He also ran out Driver with a direct hit at the bowler's end. Graham Lloyd (17 not out) and Waqas Ahmed (18 not out) saw Accrington to victory with 2 balls remaining.
