Accrington's dismal 20/20 form continued with a 4 run defeat at the hands of Rishton at Thorneyholme Road. John Seedle hit an unbeaten 30, Tiarnan Hamill also hit 30 and opener Chris Lambert 26 in Rishton's 126-6. Professional Roy Silva took 3-25 and Jimmy Hayhurst 2-26 for the home side. Stuart Crabtree took a stunning catch at mid wicket to get rid of the dangerous Sam Hacking for 7. Accrington finished on 122-9 to record their third successive cup defeat in six days and their fifth consecutive loss to Rishton in this competition. Garth Wyse (2-19) removed Paul Carroll (7) and Silva (4) after Seedle had accounted for Hayhurst but Graham Lloyd and Crabtree put on 69 for the 4th wicket to put Accrington on top. Rishton professional Aaron Heal (3-21) turned the game by removing Crabtree, who hit three fours and two sixes in his 43 ball knock of 30. Barry Hamilton (2-9) struck to dismiss left handers Graeme Sneddon and Simon Hanson and then Heal struck the vital blow by removing Lloyd for 37 before the former Lancashire man could launch a final assault.
