Bottom club Accrington won for the third time this season, beating Todmorden for the first time in three attempts, in a real nail-biter at Centre Vale. Professional Nishit Shetty top scored with 66 in Accrington's 154 all out in a 40 overs a side game. Toby Bulcock supported him well with 36, including four fours and a six and Mick Horsfield hit an unbeaten 18 at the end of the innings. Francios du Plessis took 4-37 and Andrew Sutcliffe 3-20 from the home side. Zahir Afzal removed Stuart Priestley (4) at 13 but du Plessis (27) and Simon Newbitt (28) took the score to 65. Wickets then fell at regular intervals with skipper David Ormerod (4-54 from 20 overs) just missing out on on his first five wicket haul at Centre Vale and Damian Clarke also picking up 4-46 as Accrington restricted the home side to 152-9. Mo Bux (24) and Andrew Sutcliffe (15) took Todmorden close with late runs after the home side had slumped to 92-7. Going into the final over Todmorden needed 12 for victory with 1 wicket in hand but the Accrington skipper conceded just 9 to take the points back to Accrington.
