Rishton (12pts) beat Accrington (4pts) by 11 runs

Bottom side Accrington gave the leaders Rishton a scare before going down by 11 runs at Blackburn Road. The leaders were in trouble at 37-4 after David Ormerod (3-59) and Zahir Afzal (3-67) had made early inroads. Jimmy Bibby hit an unbeaten 44 with good support from Jon Dobson (31) and Sam Hacking, who hit 51 from 37 balls with four sixes and four fours to take Rishton to 184-7. Accrington were well placed at 156-4 with professional Nishit Shetty hitting 70, but Shaun Hutchinson took 5-27 and Saeed Anwar 4-77, including his 50th wicket of the season, to save the day and keep Rishton at the top of the pile. Matt Wilson also hit 25 for Accrington, but superb catches by Shaun Wyse to dismiss Shetty and Anwar to dismiss Zahir Afzal changed the game in Rishton's favour. Accrington's lat three wickets fell at 173. Rishton's lead at the top increased to 24 points following East Lancs defeat at Enfield.
