Nelson moved off the bottom by beating the club they replaced last week, Accrington, by 8 wickets in convincing fashion at Seedhill. The visitors looked comfortable at 54-1 but a spectacular collapse inspired by a superb bowling spell by Khurram Nazir saw Accrington slide to 105 all out. The Nelson spinner took 6-33, including a hat-trick with the wickets of Graeme Sneddon, James Ormerod and Adam Wilson. Danny Kegg also took 2-7 for Nelson after Accrington professional Nishit Shetty had top scored with 61 in his sides innings. Opener Mohsin Ahmed also hit 24 and Stuart Crabtree 11, but no-one else approached double figures. David Ormerod removed Kegg before a run had been scored, but Nelson sub professional Rizwan Malik hit an unbeaten 67 to see his side to victory. Garry Grimshaw made 20 and David Crotty an unbeaten 18 for the home side.
