An outstanding all round performance by young all rounder Toby Bulcock helped Accrington beat Enfield at Thorneyholme Road for the first time since 2001 and record a first home win of the season. Bulcock bowled a marathon 25 over spell to take a career best 7-66 to restrict Enfield to 133 after Accrington had closed on 143- 9. The Enfield innings began in bizarre fashion with the first three wickets falling to Bulcock and skipper David Ormerod (2-34) with just a leg bye on the board. By the end of the 8th over the total had still not moved, standing at 1-3. Craig Fergusson fought a lone battle for the visitors, hitting 61 from 136 balls before being last man out with Bulcock holding a fine return catch to wrap up a memorable performance. Enfield veteran Bernard Reidy had earlier taken 6-33 from his 17 over spell to pass 50 wickets for the season for the second year running. Professional Brandon Hiini backed him up with 3-50. That man Bulcock top scored with a hard hit 38, his best score for for Accrington, which included five boundaries after a steady start by openers Mohsin Ahmed (21) and Waqas Ahmed (15) had taken the home side to 38. Tight bowling, poor batting and some contentious decisions saw Accrington slump to 112-7 when an 8th wicket stand of 30 between the promising Simon Hanson (17) and the stubborn Mick Horsfield (14) took the home side to 143-9.
