Scorecard
East Lancs (12pts) beat Accrington (7pts) by 10 runs

A narrow 10 run win at Accrington gives East Lancs a clear lead at the top of the table after three matches. Professional Shanan Stewart top scored with 61 with good support from Daryl Redhead (30) and Paul Kelly (30) in East Lancs 177 all out. Accrington sub professional Michael Papps took 5-37. The New Zealander was soon at the crease after Stewart had removed Brian Heywood (4) at 16. Graeme Sneddon and Matt Wilson also fell to Stewart at the same score. Toby Bulcock (0) and Mohsin Ahmed soon followed to leave Accrington on 34-5, but Stuart Crabtree (25) added 73 with Papps before falling to Paul Kelly (3-39). The off spinner also accounted for Simon Hanson (3) and Mick Horsfield (0) and Stewart (5-48) picked up Toc Hussain to claim his fifth wicket. But Accrington weren't quite dead and buried thanks to a last wicket stand of 47 between David Ormerod (7) and Papps which enabled the New Zealander to become the second Accrington sub professional to score a century this weekend. Papps hit 13 fours and a six but his partner was run out in the final over to give the visitors full points and a 2 point lead at the top of the table.
