Church won the basement battle at Accrington by 48 runs. The visitors made 163 thanks mainly to an opening stand of 118 between professional Ruvin Peiris and Sagawat Hussain. Peiris made 56 and Hussain 59 against his former club to register his maiden league half century. Mick Horsfield (5-35) and professional Nishit Shetty (5-25) then joined the attack and shared the wickets as the visitors fell from 131-2 to 163 all out. Peiris then took 6-54 and Sam Holt 3-55 to dismiss Accrington for 115. Sam Heap top scored with an unbeaten 31 as the last pair added 33. James Ormerod made 20, Horsfield and Simon Hanson 17 apiece.
