Accrington won the battle at the bottom, leaving Church with a 41 run win to record their fourth victory on their travels this season and close the gap to 2 points on their local rivals. Professional Nishit Shetty top scored with 77 from 76 balls, including seven fours and two sixes, being third out at 111. Toby Bulcock chipped in with 30, Graeme Sneddon made 16, Brian Heywood 14 and Simon Hanson an unbeaten 20 in Accrington's 195-7. Church paid man Ruvin Peiris picked up 4-73. Hanson then removed Sagawat Hussain (8) and Bulcock accounted for Alec Holt (9), Peiris (25), Nasser Hussain (18) and Church skipper Phil Sykes (5) as his first seven overs yielded 4-7. He then had Andrew Bentley dropped and saw the Church batsman go on to make 42 in an 8th wicket stand of 61 with Phil Gilrane (28) after three wickets had fallen at 73. Bulcock finished with 4-33 and Shetty 2-16 as Church were dismissed for 154.
