Accrington had a narrow victory over Todmorden in a rain affected game at Thorneyholme Road. Accrington made 179-7 with solid contributions from skipper Matt Wilson (36), professional Nishit Shetty (28) and Graeme Sneddon (20), but it was 15 year-old Simon Hanson who took the eye with an entertaining innings of 26 on his senior debut. The left hander hit four boundaries in his 39 ball knock before falling to Todmorden's sub professional Amila Wettasinghe. Todmorden moved on to 70 for the loss of Simon Newbitt (26) when rain stopped play. After a long delay, Todmorden resumed their innings, but rain again ended play in the 26th over with the visitors on 108-1, with skipper Stuart Priestley (44 not out) and Wettasinghe (18 not out) at the crease to give Accrington a 6 run victory.
