Accrington beat East Lancs at Thorneyholme Road by 17 runs to leave four teams on six points from three matches in Group 3. Professional Nishit Shetty and his opening partner Stuart Crabtree got Accrington off to a flying start with a century stand.

Shetty hit four sixes and three fours in a 39 ball knock of 54 with Crabtree taking 30 balls for his 32. Tariq Hussain clubbed 20 from a dozen balls with good support from Waqas Ahmed (17) with Phil Bolton mopping up the home sides tail with 4-12 as Accrington finished on 152 with 5 balls unused. Nas Iqbal was smashed for 46 off his 4 overs and John Fairless went for 17 off his single over.

David Ormerod won the battle of the skippers, removing Paul Turner before he had scored in another tight spell (2-17). Sub professional Steve Dearden made 28 before being superbly run out by Shetty as the visitors struggled on a slow wicket. Phil Bolton hit 22 and Iqbal made 24, but East Lancs were all out for 135 off the last ball to suffer a first defeat in the Group stages.
