A cracking local derby at West End saw Accrington come away with a 3 run win in a high scoring contest against Church. A career best 72 by opener Adam Wilson and 53 by prolific professional Nishit Shetty helped Accrington make 222-6. the pair put on 104 for the 2nd wicket after Stuart Crabtree (29) had added 54 for the 1st wicket with his partner. Shetty's half century took him to exactly 500 league runs in only his fifth innings. Skipper Matt Wilson hit 27 and James Ormerod 14 for the visitors. Half centuries by fit again professional Ruvin Peiris (62) and skipper Phil Sykes (70) put Church in a good position at 166-3 with 10 overs left. Tight bowling by David Ormerod (3-74 from 25 overs) and Shetty (3-92 from 21) meant that 8 runs were needed for victory off Shetty's final over, but only 4 were conceded to hand Accrington the narrowest of wins. The victory moves Accrington up to fourth spot, 14 points behind leaders Enfield.
