David Ormerod became the first Accrington amateur bowler since Alan Worsick in 1984 to take 50 wickets in a season, but he still finished up on the losing side as Burnley left Thorneyholme Road with a 3 wicket win in a low scoring game. Jonathan Clare took 5-29 and Jonathon Harvey 3-27 to roll Accrington over for 71. Nishit Shetty (19) was the only Accrington player in double figures. Wickets continued to tumble as Ormerod (4-30) and Shetty (3-33) took advantage of changes in the visitors batting order with the amateur picking up Vishal Tripathi (11), James Anderson (5), Steve Brunt (20) and Harvey (2) as Burnley limped home, beating Accrington for the fourth time this season to advance to second spot. Tripathi and Clare both passed 500 league runs for the season during the match.
